Stole this from wowwiki and it pointed out something that I have observed a number of times. I "bolded" the pertinent parts imo.

What to do if healers/DPS draw aggro from the tank

If you do draw aggro, and you are not the tank, the first thing you should not do is run around. Stand where you are and use your threat reduction abilities: Fade, Feint, Feign Death, Invisibility, etc. Do not attack the mob if you want it to be pulled off of you quickly, and stop healing if at all possible. ...

Talent spec and gear

A warrior who wants to main tank should spend at least 41 points in protection, up to 56 are not uncommon. See the Warrior builds article for a more complete discussion.

Traditionally (for example in games like Everquest), a tanks performance is determined by his amount of health (= stamina) and the quality of his armor. WoW adds to these two basic stats the avoidance stats like defense, dodge, parry and (to a lesser extent) block. The crucial difference between ...

The tanking rotation

The true art of warrior tanking is to use these (and the other) abilities for maximum effect. Generally, a tank should never simply use the autoattack, but should be using an ability every time the global cooldown is up if at all possible. Warriors should activate Bloodrage at the start of every fight, preferably immediately after the pull. After Bloodrage, it can a good idea to activate Shield Block if only to make sure revenge will be available as early as possible. ...

Generating threat and holding aggro

Holding aggro and Rage generation are very tightly linked for a warrior. A tanking Warrior gains Rage mostly from being hit by mobs, and uses this Rage to fuel abilities which in turn will create more threat, helping to hold aggro – and raising the damage ceiling for your DPS before they need to worry about pulling aggro. A fundamental key to understanding Warrior tanking is thus to understand how to efficiently convert Rage into threat.

this is the talent build I like for you for right now -

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warrior/talents.html?353203213020100203212510000000000000000000002030000000000000000000

I did NOT make anything weapon-specific. I think you need to spend the next 5 points on whichever weapons you like in the arms tree, but try to choos 1 class or type, and try to stick with it.

I hope this helps! you will see a lot more rage & faster cooldowns on your specials, too!

Love,

Warrior is the toughest class in WoW. They have the highest health of any class, can use the best weapons, can wear the heaviest armor and can also deal an excellent amount of damage. Melee combat is the warriors forte.

Warriors abilities are divided into catagories, such as protection, arms and fury. These abilities include passive defenses, speicial attacks and shouts that attract aggro.

I haven't personally played a warrior, so I can't give a whole lot of information- perhaps someone ...

Heya,

I figured I would post this for any warriors out there wanting a tested, tried and true defensive build for their warriors. It's not very crucial in the early going of the game, but as you draw nearer to 60, most instance warriors are spec'd something like this. In fact, people tend to be upset if you don't =/

Arms:

5 pts in Deflection. This is just obvious. Parrying is good

4 pts in Tactical Mastery. Stance dancing for a warrior does become important. You can really ...

As it stands, the Warrior's Class Leader is Jardain.

He'll be available for helping those warriors who have specific special quests, questions and just warrior-related stuff in general. We need to strive to make our classes as strong and reliable as we can. I want to kick ass in end-game stuff, as we all pay to play this game, we might as we strive to make the most fun out of it. So, for those warriors. If you need anything specific to your class, Jardain is who to speak with.
